Keeara, a black teenager with beaded hair, whines, "I knowwww I'm so sorryyy." While apologizing, she elbows something white forcefully, sending it flying off-page. The off-screen voice continues: "What's sooo important that you have to be late? Again?" Keeara responds, "UGH. It's not by choice, I swear! Look at this... they're BLOCKING my car!" Cut to a panel of Keeara's phone camera, showing her car... covered in various Fresno Nightcrawlers of various sizes. "Cryptids again?" "I KNOW!" "I mean at least it's not bigfoot amirite" "Jackie," says Keeara. "They've peed in my car THREE TIMES" "The Fresno Nightcrawlers are endangered I think," says Jackie. "I'm gonna MAKE them endangered," Keeara says, squeezing a small nightcrawler so hard it squeaks. "Hang on another sec?" "Sure, why," says Jackie. Whenever you jump dimensions, how do you remember which set of memories is real?" Ree, another white teenager with long blonde hair and goggles, smiles beatifically while pulling glowing threads out of some sort of futuristic machine. Panel expands to show the two of them are in a laboratory of some sort. "Oh, they're all real," she says. "Every bit of it matters." Kora says, "But none of them ever actually happened to me." She flashes back to four other versions of herself in different outfits. "They're just... because I'm in this dimension. Sure, I 'remember' them, but only one's the real me." "You ask such good questions!" says Ree. "Oh, this is why I brought you along! Pliers, please." Kora hands over the pliers with a small, "Yeah, yeah." "No, Kora," Ree continues, using the pliers to pull wire out of one of the glowing threads, "they're all the real you." "What?" says Kora. "Every set of memories that you gain from jumping is all you. You lived them, you were them, you remember them. Easy!" "But which one came first?" "Weren't you listening? They all did." finished this for advanced illustration recently! our challenge was do grayscale first, then add color afterwards. the prompt was "your summer highlight," so I chose last summer's trip to Alaska. I went around with binoculars looking for wildlife, and my lovely younger cousin took the pictures.
Two girls- one taller, with wavy brown hair and glasses, and the other shorter with black hair in her face and a beanie, both clad in all black- lean over a ship's banister overlooking an icy ocean. The taller girl holds binoculars and points excitedly, and the smaller holds out a camera and snaps a photo. They are both gesturing to an otter in the distance, floating in the water completely nonplussed. Same illustration as previous, but in black and white.

A seven-panel comic. Panel 1: Cate waves her arms happily, showcasing that today, June 24, 2025, is Make A Terrible Comic Day! There is confetti. Panel 2: "How do I make a comic terrible, though?" she asks herself. "I could make a self deprecating comment I guess, but I'm always genuinely proud of my comics" Panel 3: Cate leans back in her chair and scribbles on her sketchbook. "I mean maybe I should stop sketching the art before I line it." The art is significantly worse. Panel 4: The sketchbook is abandoned on an easel and Cate holds a pencil in one hand. "Or I could use pencil instead of my nice liner pens?" The panel is in pencil, and is again significantly worse than the last. Panel 5: The panel is now tilted and uneven. "Maybe I make the panels worse?" Panel 6 is done in bright pink marker that clearly has next to no ink. Cate gives a hesitant thumbs up. "Who needs pencil what about this marker that's LITERALLY older than ME" Panel 7 is the same, with the worst art of the whole comic. "Who needs PANELS- WAIT NO!" Cate reaches for the comic as the final panel tips off the page.

immediately back on my bullshit (a #comic that takes place in one minute, one hour, and one day (oh hey I remember tags exist now!))

First section: "MITTENS, NO!" screeches someone off-panel, as Mittens, a cat, carelessly knocks a vase off a shelf with a BAP! Middle section of the page: Cut to a newsroom and the news anchor, in the middle of his segment: "-we believe it was caused by a vase accidentally knocked onto the nuclear launch button. Random passerby here to comment:" "yea man it was crazy," says one random passerby. "fuckin sucks dude but whatever," says the second random passerby. Third section of the page: Cut to a panel of absolute devastation. Buildings are crumbling. Cars are wrecked. Someone's corpse is hanging over the hood. "Mittens..." rasps an exhausted, pale man lying on the ground. Mittens looks on. "Why..." croaks the man, reaching a shaking hand towards Mittens. Mittens' eyes have darkened. "Why did you do it?" Mittens bats at the man's face with a BAP!

I want to map out the stars in every dimension. I want to travel the Totality with you. That's the version of me I want, so it's the one I'll go back to." "Which do you want?" Kora looks on, stunned, She holds her fist towards her heart. "This one," she admits, smiling. Ree beams. "Exactly."

May I present my final two-page comic for Intro to Illustration last semester, "Nightcrawlers Ate My Homework Again!" Thumbed and finished in a little under 24 hours!

"Can you-" Keeara tries a third time, pathetically lifting one finger. She is cut off THIS time by Jackie, who says, "Stop talking, this is getting sad. I'll stall." Utterly relieved, in one breath, no spaces, Keeara says "Thank you I love you." She is immediately cut off by Jackie again, who says, louder and in a text box so furious it's dripping, "BUT YOU OWE ME." Again in one breath, and looking significantly less relieved, Keeara says, "...Yeah that's fair." "Aight," says Jackie. "Later, then-" "Wait, wait," Keeara says, looking around. "Are you serious," says Jackie. Keeara continues while actively spin-kicking a nightcrawler, "Wait wait wait-" "Omfg you're dead to me," says Jackie. "...Wish me luck?" Keeara tries sheepishly, grinning. "Keeara," says Jackie. Cut to a panel of Keeara, up against an army of enough nightcrawlers they run off the page. "There's like fifty of those things. I'd say good luck and you got this, but you're SO fucked." "I knowwwww," whines Keeara.
