My first friend in school was the son of an Asian doctor in the Valleys. It never dawned on me that he was a different ethnicity to me.

Prejudice is a taught behaviour. It isn’t natural.

Measure others by their actions & quality of their thinking. Not the volume of their words.

Just looking back at some of the projects over the last 7 years.

I feel so very lucky to have worked with the likes of the BBC, S4C, Plaid Cymru, Eisteddfod, Yes Cymru, Spirit of 58, FAW and the Senedd. Plus many more.

Who ever said you have to leave the Valleys to be creative?

I think it’s been 5 years since I printed these last. But they are printing like it were yesterday 😍

You don’t always get a chance to tell people what your paintings are about.

But it is nice to look back at paintings; as it reminds you where you were in life.

I painted this painting a year ago, I called it “Cwtch”.

I painted this a year ago. It was really inspired by the Max Boyce song “Duw it’s hard”…

In particular, how he describes taking his old miner’s helmet home with him after he finished down the pit…

Hungry as L-

or Hungry as Lions.

This was a defiant slogan used by the striking Miners of the Rhondda Valleys during the 1927 Hunger March. When unemployed miners marched from Maerdy to London to protest against the government's refusal of benefits and the new Unemployment Bill.

On mountains in the Rhondda
The daffodils dance and shine
As tired men trudge homeward
From factory and mine

The daffodils dance on mountains
Behind a grim charcoal row
Built among the slag heaps
In a hurry long ago.
