It's been a wild and hectic start to the year. At the end of July, I was told I would be transferring campuses. I am now doing a job meant for at least two people, ideally 3, alone. It's a lot. But the teachers I work with keep me from getting lost in the overwhelming stress.

Student loans are a mess. The economy will not do better when a bunch of people in their mid twenties and up lose $500+/month in expendable income. This will affect the service/hospitality industry hard and it will ripple across all other industries.

Listen, I know it's hot in London right now, but every time I teach Shakespeare's Sonnet 18, I have to remind my students not to think of a Texas summer and instead think of our early spring. No one in Texas would ever compare someone they love to a summer's day

It's really frustrating how many people I've seen blow off the law that requires Texas classrooms to display the 10 commandments as "just displaying moral values like don't steal or lie." The first commandment literally commands people which God to believe in.

I don’t think anyone is prepared for what they just did w/ ICE.
This is not a simple budget increase. It is an explosion - making ICE bigger than the FBI, US Bureau of Prisons, DEA,& others combined.
It is setting up to make what’s happening now look like child’s play. And people are disappearing.

I'm grateful to everyone who marched yesterday in the No Kings Day demonstration. As someone prone to heat stroke, I was nervous to participate due to my health. As many people as there were out there, know that you represented many more who were unable to participate for a number of reasons.
