🔍 NEW STUDY found #horsewelfare improves when housing allows natural behaviours, especially social interaction. However, restricted housing can cause health and welfare issues. Researchers call for long-term studies, standardised methods & solutions for space-limited settings.

Relieved to see that this list includes "Animals" from #mdpi - a long-term thorn in the side of #ResearchIntegrity, with numerous examples of serious #AnimalWelfare and #AnimalEthics violations. Some examples can be found on pubpeer. Please THINK before you CITE anything from #mdpi! 👇
Big news from Finnish publication forum. Almost all MDPI and Frontiers journals will be downgraded to level 0 and thus are not considered as properly peer reviewed trustworthy scientific journals.

I’ve driven colleagues mad with an obstinate refusal to even entertain the idea of publishing with MDPI, going so far as threatening to pull my name from ready-to-submit articles. Some colleagues still joke about publishing in IJERPH just to rile me up. Am I glad I stuck to my guns!
