emotional neglect is hard to heal from because instead of pointing to evidence (trauma) you're trying to point to something that wasn't there, which as a child by definition you have no frame of reference to.

I hope artists can see that especially in moments of political insability that they're incredibly valuable, for inspiration, to rally hearts around, and also to remind us what we're trying to come home to.

my writing goal for 26 which has been working is not feeling like I have to write anything that I will put out there. I'm seeing it as like having a room full of too much clay(trauma, lived experience) and needing to just fling it around and play with it. its going to be a lot of "drafts" in medium

It's not a superbly written book, but the conclusions of Patrik Gagnan's "Sociopath: A Memoir" are fascinating.
She describes the experience of "stuck stress" a kind of deep level anxiety that propels someone on the sociopathic spectrum to do something "wrong" to dispel that feeling. 1/2
