Oof. Guess who apparently deleted all her dissertation files a couple months ago under the assumption they were backed up? 😭

I don't think it's going to actually impact me at all (my diss work hasn't been touched since I submitted it) but it's still kind of a blow.

Junior year, my high school did Sweet Charity and they're worried about Oklahoma? 👀

It was a talk given by @jhangiani.bsky.social that inspired my dive into Open Pedagogy and his keynote today reminded me of the why. Excellent start #OpenEd23

"Community is a verb."

A beautiful tribute to Arley McNeney by @jhangiani.bsky.social to remind us of what is really important in Open education.

Leaving RWU meant that my CORE101 Open Pedagogy Project lost it's home (lesson learned - don't use institutional google sites for #OpenPed projects), but now it's back up, so please update your links!

I am consistently amazed at the lack of awareness professors have for OER. But today, it just went a step further. I encountered professors nonchalantly mention that they *require* Netflix subscriptions as part of their course materials...

That's $, especially now that Netflix raises their prices.

Still can't spell institution on the first try....you'd think I'd get it eventually, especially after it appearing over 200 times in my dissertation....

I'm a sucker for film scores - and now that I am working remotely, I need music to keep me going. So drop your favorite film scores (or even single tracks) below and I will check them out. TV and Game scores also good too!

Is anyone out there doing research about how the pandemic may/may not have changed teaching perspectives/practices in #HigherEd? Like are there teachers who saw the pandemic as the pivotal moment it was and drastically changed practices? Or are there teachers that backslid?

Today I start my new job as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow with the AAC&U! So excited to be stepping away from teaching and honing my research skills, and get to talk about OER all the time.

Thanks everyone for the positive support I've gotten during this transition!🥰

So a lot of people who are in unstable, abusive, and/or periodically violent living situations keep cell phones hidden for emergencies.

If you know anyone in such a situation, make sure they know about FEMA's testing of its Wireless Emergency Alert (WEA) system next Wednesday.

Unemployment has its benefits. We've wanted to paint the foundation of our house for 14 years. Literally.
