- oh god, that Xfinity ad using Jurrasic Park and the Pina Colada song... weird.
- the ritz commercial was without the spray-on cheese.
- the grubhub commercial, so-so. probably going to ask for higher tips.

back to the commercials, VW using "Jump Around" and Budweiser using "Freebird" interesting musical choices.

i really like the Puerto Rican theme here. from the everyday life to the wedding to post-wedding life to even reconstruction of the electrical grid post-hurricane. I'm entertained by this halftime show. Ricky Martin and I think Lady Gaga also involved. It was cool.

that Cenex minimart commercial, well, when I was in HS band a long time ago.... on band trips, my director would have never let us stop at a minimart for lunch.

did Matthew McConaughey just try to make a pitch that he should take the helm of the Cowpatties from Jerry Jones? cause he didn't do any favors for the Eagles crowd.

Backstreet Boys selling T-mobile. guess they needed the cash.

so, why is a NJ guy introducing a team from New England? #SBLX

did anyone expect anything else from Green Day than what was played? I'm cool with it.

rough start for the Canadian, but a good finish to the routine.

watching figure skating in 4k over here. and I have to admit, the skaters are way cool as always. but the new scoring system for figure skating, it's taking me time to figure it out.

nice tip of the cap to not only Kelvin Yeboah, but also to the scientists in the Loon fanbase. 🙂👍🌡️#mnufc
no fahrenheit no celsius just Kelvin
February 7, 2026 at 11:22 PM
interesting little mix inside the 18 leading to Markanich getting the goal off a rebound from Yeboah's shot. 3-0 #mnufc. and I am guessing "man of the match" honors are leaning towards #13 attm with 2g 1a.
February 7, 2026 at 11:04 PM
beautiful setup from Peyrera to Markanich to then give Yeboah the goal you expect from a striker. that looked real good for #mnufc. 2-0 Loons. #minvskc
February 7, 2026 at 10:52 PM
good goal off the rebound. and of course, it's "big hat" Markanich with the "right place, right time" goal. #mnufc
February 7, 2026 at 10:13 PM
well, so far not too much possession for us so far. the D is holding up ok. keeper looks good. but I wonder if the cameraperson for the #minvskc match had too many "carrot juices on the rocks" at the nearby Carrot Festival. #mnufc

don't like that the US lost to Gr Br in curling, but it wasn't for the lack of trying by the US. better match than the score reflected.
onto some speed skating for a few minutes before watching the luge runs. personal note, luge, bobsled, and skeleton are events I'd like to try once.

Dreams can sometimes be pretty good cinematicly. Mine was a decent spy flick. The only thing about this spy flick I wasn't happy about, the final post-plot scene wasn't like a James Bond movie starring Sean Connery or Roger Moore.

for his age, Alberto Tomba looks decent. he was definitely one of the top alpine skiers of the late 80s into the 90s.

hypothetical q for Minnesotans (& those who know Minnesotans). I know this state doesn't have the mountains to host any of the downhill skiing events, and I'm not sure if the elevations are enough for bobsled/luge.
but, how would the Opening Ceremonies look if the Winter Olympics were in Minnesota?
February 7, 2026 at 1:57 AM
The nice version of the Italian Anthem, compared to the one played when Ferrari wins in F1.
February 7, 2026 at 1:42 AM
the fashion march for the opening is nice. at least they used some good music, not Right Said Fred.

This is unreal. An AUSA talking like that in open court is about as close as you can come to a total breakdown. Never heard of anything like it.
