Should we go out to a steakhouse for Valentine’s Day?

No we have a steakhouse at home.

The steakhouse at home:

Photo of the 1.5” thick 26oz ribeye being sliced for presentation. Just like a captain would do table side at one of those fancy-ass white tablecloth crumb comb places. Perfect medium-rare in the center, which works out since I like it that way and K prefers medium. It’s like it was meant to be 💘.

Still from Better Off Dead showing Lane Meyer skiing the K-12 on one ski. A skier from Sweden fell forward during her lap and popped her ski off the bindings and couldn’t get it back on. So she skied on one ski till she could get to a tech with a replacement.

All of which are punk knockoff versions of the Muppets.

This year’s SB menu: Carnitas street tacos with lime cream y arroz con frijoles negros. Oh and some cerveza too

Snow day today so we made smoky biscuits and gravy with cheddar & hot honey
Biscuits and gravy with cheese on top in a bowl. Biscuits were from the ‘splosion tube. Sausage gravy is homemade. No tube sausage meat at the grocery store, so I had to buy links and squeegee the meat out of the casing. Did the 2/2/2 method for the gravy using the leftover frying fat (two tablespoons fat, two tablespoons flour, two cups milk). Added one of my “why use a bunch of a single spice when you can use a bit of five different ones” method to season it using a mix of sweet paprika, smoked paprika, Aleppo pepper, Guajillo pepper, and a sprinkle of cayenne. I should probably just premake a blend of it to facilitate using it while actively cooking. Maybe a project for this afternoon.
