(1/2) The consequence here (intended, I'm sure) is that any service member discharged under the trans military ban who doesn't have it documented that they were receiving care while active duty, or was forced to stop in hopes of remaining active, won't meet the criteria.

This ANGERS me to the core. If you visited that Monument for at least 20 years after it was dedicated, there would be 442 Vets there who were passionate about telling their story, one filled with valor in the face of heartbreak. They were the best of America. Who the fuck thinks they can deny that?

The 442 was one of the most decorated regiments in history, mostly made up of 2nd generation (Nisei) Japanese Americans. Grandpa volunteered for service after his family was forcibly relocated to an internment camp in Poston AZ.
