I can’t help but feel that maybe by using more suggestively cute language, like “unalive” and such, instead of letting the unpleasant words be unpleasant, is causing the power of those words to lessen. Like if someone says “my dad was unalived” it’s sounds cutesy but “my dad was killed” has weight.
