Compassion in Crisis

We thought it couldn't get worse than two young people murdered outside of a Jewish museum to the words "Free Palestine." Then it got worse: a group walking to remind people in Boulder, CO that Israeli hostages are still being held in Gaza was attacked with flames, hatred, and "End Zionists". /1

This week = Israel’s Memorial & Independence Days. Also when zealots rampaged in West Bank & against a Reform synagogue showing empathy for both sides’ losses. I am not Israeli, I AM part of the global Jewish people. Last days to #VoteHatikvah to stand for what we believe. azm.org/elections/

When “Jews agains ethnic cleansing” is actually necessary, when fights for better democracy & civil rights rage in the US and Israel, when diversity and human dignity are attacked, encourage global Jews to #VoteHatikvah at www.hatikvahslate.net - sign up to be notified when WZC elections start.
Why we can’t panic over every bill filed by random state reps or senators, no matter how inflammatory the bill subject or article headline. They use up our outrage bandwidth & distract us from real threats that actually make it out of committee to floor votes, where real fights should be.
Oklahoma State Sen. Dusty Deevers, a hard-core Christian Nationalist, recently proposed bills to criminalize all abortions and make it harder for women to leave abusive marriages.
Those bills are apparently too extreme even for Oklahoma Republicans.
