This year I'm looking into the fun holiday drinks of Christmas. However, the Historical Vagabond doesn't travel the easy, well-trodden path. Instead, I found a few regional variants of these classic drinks, along with some totally unique Christmas beverages that should please the crowd.

Bastone Siciliano: The Art of Sicilian Stick Fighting
Sicilian-Americans treasure the customs and traditions that have been preserved from their ancestral homeland. However, there is quite a lot that was forgotten. One tradition I wish trickled down to my childhood was the Sicilian system of stick fighting known as Bastone Siciliano.

Santa Maria della Spina is a tiny, compact jewel box adorned with numerous beautiful statues and carvings. Part of its beauty is the amount of adornment on such a small building. The number and scale of the carvings and statues would be impressive on a much larger church.
