As someone who lives in an exurb, I can tell you there are a lot of us who are not okay with it and are doing everything we can to protect our neighbors. Please don't write us off - we could use your help in lots of ways.
If the local population and police are OK with it then there is nothing we can do about it.
When the towns shrink and businesses don't have employees then we can say "told ya so". But that is about it.
