In 2025, HIAS had to make hard decisions.

Several country offices were closed, staff were laid off, and longstanding partnerships were disrupted.

The losses were painful, but they reminded us: no matter the changes we face, our commitment to displaced people remains unwavering →
2025: Year in Review

HIAS is horrified by this devastating act of antisemitic violence. Our hearts are with the victims, their families, and the entire Jewish community in Australia.

May the memories of those killed be a blessing, and may we all someday build and inhabit a safer world.

In the past few weeks, the Trump admin has targeted refugees, asylum seekers and immigrants, throwing hundreds of thousands of people into fear and trauma.

Let's be clear: refugee rights are human rights. We all deserve the right to safety, home, stability, and community.

Women & girls are disproportionately impacted by conflict.

But we also know that women are at the center of protection, healing & rebuilding. Again and again, women hold families & communities together amid profound uncertainty.
