I love my wife and kids, Doctor Who, old records, and the Muppets. Roughly in that order.
Today’s find at work—never heard of or seen this one before, but what a title.

Anyone in the Northeast Philly area looking for #DoctorWho VHS—we got a donation of Hartnell & Troughton (plus one Tom Baker) titles at the Bustleton Ave. Goodwill store. Putting them out for $12.99 for the lot.

One of the things I find perplexing about billionaires is that they're all so utterly desperate to be loved but also utterly unable to comprehend that they could become heroes across the world by spending even a fraction of their obscene wealth on others.

Today’s find at work. I had no idea that Beverly Cleary wrote tie-in fiction before doing the Ramona books.

I was just an Education Department guy under Reagan and the most junior WH senior staffer under G.H.W. Bush, so what do I know? But if I were an ex-president, and the current president were executing the most disastrous turn in American foreign policy in 80 years, I think I might say something?

Under the banner of “government efficiency,” U.S.-grown food and lifesaving medicine meant to help the world’s most vulnerable is instead rotting on cargo ships and in warehouses across the globe.

USAID upheaval is paralyzing delivery of food and medicine around the globe
Though humanitarian aid was supposed to be exempt from the Trump-ordered disruption, shipments of lifesaving food and drugs are held up in ports and warehouses.

@gossjam.bsky.social Santa brought my ten-year-old the novelisation of The Giggle for Xmas. It’s been hard to get him to read anything more advanced than Dogman, but he has been lapping up your inventive take on one of his fave stories. He wants to start reading other Target novels now. THANK YOU.

It’s weird how when listening to a playlist of 2,500 songs on shuffle, certain songs will keep coming up for a period of time—lately it’s “Massachusetts” by the Bee Gees and “Long Cool Woman in a Black Dress” by the Hollies. Amazon Music seems to be enamored with them this month.

I have just accidentally created a new word: ambitive, a portmanteau of ambitious and impressive. Go forth and make free use of it, with my blessing.

Everyone is starting to post their end-of-year music listening stats. I would share mine, but they can be neatly summarized as, “what your ten year-old listens to on repeat for a month at a time.”
