I was thinking about giving to the church I go to but since the leadership voted for Trump and supports him I'm just going to give that money to my mailman, garbage man, cleaning person etc. It's not tax deductible but feels more effective.

So Elizabeth Warren had an idea that lost steam to create a wealth tax. This got a lot of flack because it was claimed that wealth taxes are double taxed income.
Millions of Americans pay property taxes on their homes and the world is not on fire. This is, once again, the rich gaslighting us.

If we’re going to live in a society that allows both poverty and billionaires, the least we can do have the billionaires pay for the military and infrastructure repairs. Come on.

Need this in the USA:
1) All elected federal officials must make minimum wage and cannot put money in anything other than an index fund 401K
2) Any healthcare available to a federally elected official must also be available to all Americans at the same terms.

My fear is that the left will again be asked to fix something catastrophic that happened with the USA while a republican president was in office.
