My contacts are driving me bats but they and then green shirt i'm wearing really make my eyes pop in zoom meetings.
November 17, 2025 at 11:34 PM
Because I just dropped a fair amount of money on replacing my contacts I've been trying to wear them more and remembering that allergies often make that less than fun.

You know you've lost the battle for picking up a new hobby when you start looking into craft supply storage.

I have much to do but already am fighting vacation brain because I fly to NM next week for TG.

November 15, 2025 at 10:33 PM
Dear brain: it is Saturday not Friday so I am not going to do that work thing you so helpfully woke me up to remind me about. Shut ip and let me go back to sleep

Article: How to have a slow morning routine to start the day well rested & mentally ready for the day.
Article solution: Rent an apartment with at least two more rooms so you can have a dedicated gym/meditation spot/journaling area. Also knock holes in the bathroom wallto supply natural light.

The trend of hot shirtless guys making food is amusing an all but they often make a huge mess and I must be getting old because sometimes it's less 'that was kind of hot' and more 'you're going to have to clean up that mess, young man.'

A bit more brown than I meant (though I kind of love it that way) but it smells amazing

Is it really a lasagna if you don’t struggle to lift it down into the oven?
November 12, 2025 at 1:14 AM
Dear subcontractor: I very much like you. But when I say "I need a budget for 300k" and you send me a budget for 500k you have not, I maintain, provided me with the documents I need.

Sauce for lasagna making simmering on stove, pesto made. I suppose I have to do actual work again.

Ah the joy of finally making yourself sit down to do something that you've been struggling with and immediately running into a system wall instead of a mental wall.

Dear weather gods, it should not be 80 degrees in November. The fox has spoken.

One thing about getting most of my vocabulary from context reading rather than learning the words directly is that when choosing one of two words that mean the same thing I choose by vibe for which one is better. (context: I used supplant instead of supersede this morning & weirded out a coworker)

I almost wore the raver pants I bought for Halloween to work today because I was half asleep and didn't notice what pair I grabbed.

I have gotten so used to peering over my glasses when I read something that when I put my computer glasses while I'm wearing my contacts I still try to look over them to read (which is what they're for)

Re: Last tweet. I may have to pound out "Nobody's side" on the piano during lunch since the Chess sheet music is already sitting there anyway (though admittedly I haven't practiced that one much)
November 7, 2025 at 6:40 PM
She clearly is and both times I've seen it they made this exact mistake though I had never articulated.
Me: The reason no production of Chess has ever succeeded other than the in-concert version is because absolutely no one including the authors are aware of the fact that Florence is the protagonist of the show--
