One of my best friends wrote this editorial for our hometown newspaper in Republic County Kansas. Though many in that community likely won’t agree with her words, I hope that with the impacts to rural America that are surely coming, that this will resonate with a few. Always so proud of my friend!

Yes! I’m in no mood to read April Fools posts from any business, influencer , organization, or friend today or until reality gets a lot less stressful.
All I’m saying is: if you come with an April Fools Day joke today, it better be clever as hell because I think we’re all pretty exhausted from being knocked sideways.

I haven't worked as a dietitian for many years, but still take great interest in food, nutrition, and food justice/equity. I signed up to take part in the #SNAPChallenge, which means spending $6 per person per day on food for 3 days.
