started working on a sidebar extension to view bluesky posts as you browse the web!
made some updates to hopeinsource.com, was fun to think of some new views on the same data (like some other experiments I had)

unlike speed reading, there's something fun about seeing text layed out in different ways.. maybe there's something here?

have a desire to see more form, a care for position, retaining context, and density of info that isn't captured as easily in an LLM, (immediately turn to screenshots)

I made a program (well a series of them) that takes a 1400 item magnetic media collection digitized IRL onto archive.org and makes programming schedules for the videos and monitors what's been played etc and&makes a 24hr channel on twitch/YT/stream.place

Then I broadcast it as analog in my house
We are having company so I have set up my channel in the living room lol

going from digital -> physical vs "staying in digital -> digital" has certainly been a theme for me the last years (printers, qr scanners, geolocation)

anyone else do any experiments in this vein?

Testing out a barcode scanner as a way to play albums (through Spotify in this case). Wondering if this is a way to bridge from tangibility of physical media to flexibility of digital. feed.grantcuster.com/post/2026-01...

did anyone else not know epubs are just a zip file of html/css!?

(new wip project is a epub reader that will hopefuly support annotations, ideally i could merge or figure out what differentiates it from henry.ink, tho i feel private small group inline chats is valuable over public atproto posts)

Aggregating Bluesky mentions on the Semble page for any URL!

probably asked about this earlier, but curious if there's been any progress on thinking through what collaborative lexicons would look like.

thinking about this a lot in terms of shared lists (vs just personal ones)? @hyl.st?

is it just shared did/pds or an appview aggregates some prefix/string?
i'm definetely going to get back onto henry.ink stay tuned! I'm a little preoccupied with similar projects (it's all related to me), my bible app (a specific book), a book club app (pdf/epub annotations), walking podcast (physical annotations I guess?), my geonotes app, etc

It's launch day, I pulled the trigger!!!

There's still *so* much to do, but I think it's in a reasonable enoigh state for yall to try :)

Would love to hear your feedback!!
Today, we're opening up Seams Alpha (seams.so), a social web annotation built in the Atmosphere. We're hoping it helps with collective sense-making.

This is just the start, there's still lots to do!

We'd love if you tried it with us.

Getting real close to launching Seams.so for real this time!

Had to undertake a lot of architectural work to setup a proxy which _doesn't_ require a browser extension, but shares almost all the code with it. Probably going to use this as the mobile version.

I'm thinking it'd be fun to do a casual NYC atproto meetup in early / mid-Oct…

Who's around & interested? Any days best?

What format(s) would you be into — demo / show+tell, group discussions etc?

One fun idea from @awarm.space: lightning talks about *someone else's project* in the atmosphere!

Once again thinking about AT Collections. We need a primitive that can organize _any_ record in anybodies PDS.

There ought to be a way to do shared collections, but the protocol isn't amenable to that, so personal is fine.
But it must mix any type of content: profiles, scrobbles, anisota items
danabra.mov dan @danabra.mov · Apr 13
tldr these are the primitives i’m personally warm to. the first one probably can’t take off in userland if the app doesn’t embrace it. but maybe some other atproto app will? or maybe bluesky will do something like this? i’m not sure!
danabra.mov dan @danabra.mov · Apr 13
i just think there should be two user facing things.

one is something between pinterest Boards, reddit Subreddits, and twitter Communities. it’s basically just Lists of posts. i call it Collections in my head.

the other is kinda like feeds, you know, whatever Discover is. i’d probably just use one

Did you know your MacBook has a sensor that knows the exact angle of the screen hinge?

It’s not exposed as a public API, but I figured out a way to read it and make it sound like an old wooden door.

wondering with @fjpaz.net about the backup/cache of data that isn't yours? if you quote post someone and the original is deleted, you might not remember why you quoted it, same with a like, or any future lexicon? or am I just confused about this

are there any lexicons that are for connecting accounts to other socials? was thinking of making one for say are.na

(my idea was to verify on the other side through some convention, so for arena it could be like making a specific named block or channel etc, and then on the atproto side link to it)
