Is it any wonder many of the GOP have created an Islamophobic meme (misrepresenting Islam on dogs) right before it appears the US and Israel plan to go to war against Iran?

My studies of Renaissance Christian philosophers and theologians, like Marsilio Ficino, made me want to engage Buddhism similar to the way Ficino did Platonism, which is what I decided to do when I entered into a graduate study program in theology at Xavier: www.patheos.com/blogs/henryk...
My Engagement With World Religions: Buddhism Part II
After visiting Italy, I decided it was time for me to go back to school and engage what I had learned from Buddhism.

The dignity of the human person gives them rights, rights which society must protect, including the right to live without unjust burdens placed upon them. This is why, when technology changes the economic environment, society must help those adversely affected: www.patheos.com/blogs/henryk...
Why Is Thomas Paine Relevant Today In Discussions Over AI?
Thomas Paine understood that when technology displaced workers, society should work to help those people survive and thrive.

This is a problem with so many industries today, and I fear, it is getting worse instead of better. Gamergate was a real warning sign.
The fact that there wasn't a single person of colour — a fact remarked on enough — is throwing up lots of hard questions regarding my prospects as BOTH a games industry professional and a person of colour

I imagine I'm not alone in feeling this way

D'après mes infos Sandfall a choisi de réserver cette décoration aux CDI et à qlq freelances encore liés au studio. Une 12aine de contrats temporaires crédités sur Clair Obscur était conviée... à venir voir les autres se faire adouber.

For Byzantine Catholics, today marks the beginning of Lent, and with it, I am beginning a series of Lenten reflections, exploring and commenting up Scriptures that fit traditional Lenten fare: www.patheos.com/blogs/henryk...
Reflections For Lent 2026: Introduction
Great Lent should be a time of reflection, a time of getting to know ourselves, and the world around us, better.

We are told where our heart is, so we will find our treasure; if we treasure God, we will love God wherever God’s presence is to be found: www.patheos.com/blogs/henryk... #Catholic #God
Embracing God's Image In Ourselves And Our Neighbors
God's image is found in everyone; we are to cherish it, showing everyone the hospitality which we would show God if God came to us.

Heresies often emerge when there are difficult questions to ask, and no one has done so, which is why they often help promote positive theological development (even if their own answers have problems with them): www.patheos.com/blogs/henryk... #Catholic #Theology #Heresies
Heresies Often Are Catalysts For Theological Reflection
While heresies are dangerous, they also highlight theological concerns which the church needs to engage and not ignore.

When I began to study Buddhism, I came to understand it was not nihilistic, but rather apophatic, and that made me very interested in learning more (thanks to my studies in apophatic thought in Christianity): www.patheos.com/blogs/henryk... #Catholic #Buddhism
My Engagements With World Religions: Buddhism Part I
My interest in Buddhism came rather late, but once I had it, it took over my studies as I wanted to engage it from a Christian perspective.

God has told us to remember the past, so why do many Christians accept the erasure of Black History in the United States? www.patheos.com/blogs/henryk... #Catholic #BlackHistory
The Impact Of Erasing Black History
Black History Month is more important than ever as we find many in positions of power trying to erase our memory of the past.

The Great Fast, Lent, is not really about fasting, but about purifying ourselves, and that is why it is important for us to go in with the right intentions, as good intentions are necessary for us to do all the good we can do: www.patheos.com/blogs/henryk... #Catholic #Intentions #Fast
Preparing For The Great Fast By Considering Our Intentions
Not just our actions, but our intentions matter, and they will influence how much good, or evil, is done by our actions.

Don't forget, if the SAVE ACT is turned to law, and not put on hold in the courts, not only will many find they can't vote when they go to vote, those who try to prepare will likely find paperwork slowed down so they can't get the ID ready for the election. #NoToSaveAct

Indiana is trying to make a "police" unit in the National Guard which is authorized to act as normal law enforcement officials. I can't help but think this came out of the Trump administration. Imagine if Trump uses that guard? Check to see if your state is doing this www.wthr.com/article/news...
Should the governor be able to deploy military police to Indiana cities?
A bill that just passed the Indiana House would empower the governor to send National Guard military police anywhere in the state with little to no notice.
