A brief intro...

I'm a YA author/sometimes music journalist living in Nashville by way of Detroit and NYC. Would love to connect with other authors, readers, music-lovers, & believers in democracy if we ever have the opportunity for such a thing again.

Some things I've written:

I kept a journal in 2001 and wrote about being in NYC on 9/11, working in Union Station, and about having the honor to volunteer at Ground Zero.

Please read it through the lens of 2001, not 2025. I was younger and more idealistic, as was the world.

I feel like I’m screaming into the void on this as I see my co-workers embrace the AI writing tools that will one day render us obsolete.

Like boiling a lobster in cool water so they don’t notice it heating up. Those tools we use to “help” our work writing projects will soon write them without us.
At a time when people are understandably focused on the daily chaos in Washington, these articles describe the rapidly accelerating impact that AI is going to have on jobs, the economy, and how we live.
Behind the Curtain: Top AI CEO foresees white-collar bloodbath

Really wish all my baseball peeps would migrate over here from the other place. My @tigers.bsky.social are magical fire this season and I have no one to gloat with. (Also really missing my dad who supported the team through bleak seasons & would have loved this.) 💙⚾️🧡

Some words that hit me as I wrapped up @helenedunbar.bsky.social’s “We Are Lost & Found”. It captures the moment I, & maybe you, am in right now and simply, but profoundly, articulates how I, & maybe you, will choose to respond. 1/

80’s alternative deep cuts. Some would say that I already filibuster on it 🎶🤷🏻‍♀️🎵
regardless of one’s opinion on what booker is doing right now (for me: admirable, wish more dems had taken this stand long ago, still not a lot of faith in reformism):

once you felt like you were running out of material, what would you filibuster on? for me, obviously, it would be pokémon

IF all the good people are resigning (and I completely respect that decision) who is going to save us?
Breaking on MSNBC: Denise Cheung, the chief of the criminal division at the DC U.S. Attorney's office, resigned this morning.

The acting head of that office, Ed Martin, is a 2020 election denier who defended Jan. 6 insurrectionists. Trump nominated Martin to fill that post permanently this week.
