It almost feels like a tradition for me to share this moving Xmas tree decoration, beautifully hand-made by my husband's aunt in Poland in 1945 from a re-purposed cardboard exercise book cover. #fragility #memories #craft #history #Poland #connection #Christmas #recycling #joy #dancing

In the end, you want to be in a position where you can spend unrushed, quality time with the people you care about, have access to what you need & what brings you joy. And to have some sense of purpose that fits with what you believe in.

Happy International Stuttering Awareness Day! 💚

This year’s theme, “A Diverse Stuttering Community – Meeting Challenges With Strengths”, reminds us there’s no single way to stutter, and no single story.

Word of the day is ‘tamalou’: a French name for an older person who no longer greets their friends with ‘how was your holiday?, but with ‘t’as mal où ?’, ‘where does it hurt?’. There follows an enthusiastic account of aches and pains and doctor’s appointments.

🟢 The event is free for people who stutter. While there’s scale for allies who don't stutter, e.g. Speech and Language Therapists go free, we ask for a modest contribution from large employers towards our costs.
