In Ethiopia, 200,000 forcibly displaced women and girls have been impacted by the closure of services that respond to sexual and physical violence.

This includes the closure of a safe house that puts survivors at immediate risk of being killed.

This is unacceptable.

Risks of gender-based violence are high during crises, and it’s not always about physical violence.

Yet, essential services for survivors are underfunded.

We must make sure no woman is left without support.

Climate and conflict are more interlinked than they’ve ever been before.

People are fleeing conflict only to find themselves on the frontlines of the climate crisis.

Meanwhile that very climate crisis can fuel tensions and force more to flee. #COP29

They are severely affected by violence, destruction of schools and infrastructure, and compromised health services.
They need safety, services and peace.
