I've been dreaming of making this announcement for so long that I'm still in disbelief that I get to post this. I’m beyond thrilled to share that my memoir CAMOUFLAGE: How I Emerged from the Shadows of a Military Marriage will be out in the world in fall 2025!
May our super powers continue to work their magic.

What a year! From a publishing deal to published essays, from podcasts to book clubs, from reviews to roundups. I’m so thankful for the year of my memoir’s birthday, And I’m so excited to see what 2026 will bring! Can’t wait to test my 2026 word of the year: POSSIBILITY.

When you have family members who are so thoughtful and supportive of your book that you get two of the same ornament for Christmas. I say the more the merrier! So grateful.

13 years ago I found out that Reader's Digest picked up an essay I wrote for a print edition. It was a turning point in my writing career and another wakeup call about my marriage that ended shortly after.

Read all about it in Chapter 17 of my memoir CAMOUFLAGE!

I’m so grateful for all of the amazing reviews like this one that readers are leaving for CAMOUFLAGE. Reviews really help books get seen and help the right readers find them.

The best gift you can give me this Christmas? Read CAMOUFLAGE and leave a review!

From the archives: 3 years ago for @huffpost.com I wrote about ‘This Is 40,’ the movie I watched on my last ever date night with my ex-husband before we separated. You can read all about my divorce story and my path to choosing happiness in my memoir CAMOUFLAGE.

I am absolutely blown away by this smart and thoughtful review of CAMOUFLAGE in Hippocampus Magazine. I truly love hearing readers' reactions to my memoir, how my story resonates with them, and how their own experiences relate to mine.

I may not be a military spouse anymore, but one thing remains the same:

Go Navy! Beat Army!

Watching Gremlins. Because it *is* a Christmas movie. Just like Die Hard. There I said it.

I had the wonderful opportunity to be a guest on The Freelance Writing Direct podcast with Estelle Erasmus, and what a fun conversation we had about my memoir CAMOUFLAGE. The episode is available now, and I hope you give it a listen/watch!

I've been reading Stars and Stripes for a really long time so to see my memoir in a Stars and Stripes roundup of military spouse books is incredibly special. A huge thank you to Terri Barnes for including CAMOUFLAGE in this list and writing such a lovely review!

14 years ago I was a kindergarten teacher. One day before Christmas, a student handed this to me and said, “My mommy won this at a party but she doesn’t want it so she told me to give it to you.” More pieces fall off every year, but it makes me smile and I don’t have the heart to toss it.

Every year my Christmas gift to my dad is a Shutterfly calendar filled with family photos. Designing it is a wonderful reflection of all the fun things we did in the past year. So it's a gift for me too. (Plus, I buy one for my house when calendars go on sale after Christmas.)
