The House passed the biggest cut to health care in history overnight. One provision that hasn’t gotten much attention would defund Planned Parenthood centers. My op-ed analyzes what this would mean for the 23 centers in NJ. www.njspotlightnews.org/2025/05/fede... @princetonchw.bsky.social

Just read this great breakdown on how climate policy must center racial, economic & health justice. Focus on states aligns w/@beckylopez.bsky.social & my @healthaffairs.bsky.social take: states can use Medicaid to address climate-driven health harms & protect at-risk communities shorturl.at/EmQpB

Yes! Such an important point. Although everyone will feel the health impacts of climate change, certain populations will experience its effects more severely, and Medicaid can play an important role in mitigating the harms. Read more from me and my colleague @beckylopez.bsky.social
Great read on how Medicaid can help address extreme heat risk for individuals. This is especially important as those who are harmed the most by extreme heat (children, pregnant people, communities of color, and people with low incomes) also tend to be covered by this critical program!
While we need swift global action to address climate change, states are increasingly working to mitigate the health consequences. Read about how Medicaid is addressing the impacts of extreme heat on health, including, e.g., paying for ACs and air filters.
