I’m putting an awful lot of energy into convincing myself I don’t want Doritos.

For no evident reason, today has felt Very Hard and I'm having a difficult time not just crawling under my desk.

What do your kids do to invoke a snow day? I’m hearing plans for backwards jammies and spoons under pillows.

Reading books, shopping for books and lending books are three separate hobbies.

My brain will only accept the ~gentlest~ of entertainments. Please tell me your favourite comfort watches, so I don’t just rewatch Parks & Rec or Schitt’s Creek again.

I told my husband to let his soft animal body love what it loves, and the series of facial expressions he cycled through will sustain me through these dark times.

I finished this late last night in a bit of a fugue state. Initially I was planning to add it to the back of a jean jacket, but the end result is larger than I anticipated. Maybe a cushion cover?

Many of you were lucky enough to know @susano.bsky.social, and I'm so sorry to share that she passed away last week after a short but aggressive illness. Those who love her are shocked and heartbroken.

Hug your friends. Tell them you love them.

I would love to say that the best thing I read in 2025 was something gorgeous and meaningful like Martyr! or Wild Dark Shore*, but if I’m being absolutely honest my favourite read of the year was the absolutely bonkers Dungeon Crawler Carl.

* I did absolutely love these gorgeous books.

The port has existed in its current form since the 1970's. The Peninsula had its peak population in 1956.

If congestion and movement of people and goods are being impacted today, the only cause is the number of cars on the road. the only solution is to reduce the count.
