When we show up for each other, we all win! Our Weingarten rights give us access to a union representative in disciplinary meetings, helping create a more supportive and transparent workplace.

Creating fair, transparent processes matters. Thanks to our union, employees now have clear pathways to file grievances (a formal complaint filed against the employer alleging a union contract violation) with the backing and support we all deserve. Another step toward a more equitable workplace!

In the tumultuous media industry, guaranteed severance is a necessary security. Our first contract ensures laid-off employees get at least 4 weeks of severance because when companies cut jobs, stability and respect should be guaranteed.

After many of our members went years(!) without any raises, we were proud to win guaranteed annual increases in our 2023 contract. Now, we’re aiming for annual salary increases that exceed the rate of inflation, providing us the means for the healthy and fulfilling lives we deserve.

Raising starting salaries in our 2023 contract was a huge win. As the cost of living continues to rise, we’re ready to keep building on that progress. Everyone deserves pay that keeps pace with life!

We’re still so proud of the first contract we ratified in 2023 after three long years of bargaining with Hearst. Now, the Hearst Magazines Media Union is stronger than ever and ready to return to the bargaining table to win more for our 500+ members. Stay tuned for updates!

BREAKING: The @voxmediaunion.bsky.social reached a tentative agreement with management on a new 3-year collective bargaining agreement! The 250-member unit will vote to ratify the contract in the coming days. As a deal has now been reached, there will not be any pickets outside Vox Media’s office.

It’s been a long day of bargaining with Vox Media, fighting hard to get a fair contract with better salaries, AI protections, the inclusion of the Dodo in our union, and much more. Come tomorrow, there’s only two days left in our contract — Vox Media, stop dragging your feet.

Lots of awful things happening this week, but I'm still rooting for @voxmediaunion.bsky.social to secure a fair contract!
Their win helps establish industry standard practices (basic job protections against AI, higher salary floors, layoff policies, etc.), and ensures a brighter future in media.

This is an incredible crew of folks fighting to enshrine crucial protections in their union contract. That contract will be looked to by many other unions and companies as they navigate this world that is so deeply hostile to the journalism and the truth. Give them your support!
