Why does medicine need more diversity?

Well, to cut down on the blind spots everyone has — including doctors.

Dr. Bolu Ogunyemi says conditions can get overlooked or misdiagnosed by doctors not fully comfortable with diagnosing on different skin tones.

What’s the Canadian take on #Tylenol and #pregnancy? Don’t stress. Heath Canada’s approval process for meds keeps us safe. There’s no credible evidence linking prenatal #acetaminophen use to #autism.

Still feeling uneasy? Best to talk to your #doctor or head to a walk-in clinic.

#ER patients at North York General #hospital rarely land a bed but get seen astonishingly fast. We got a rare look inside to see why it’s better to wait in a chair there.

But would you still want a bed? Or faster care without one?

What does this ER doc think of “The Pitt”? Dr. Kevin’s eyes literally lit up. He said it’s rare for any medical drama to get it THIS right.

*cough* “Grey’s Anatomy”

Congrats to the cast and crew of The Pitt for your Emmy wins!

AI is not a search engine. Don't use it for health advice.

It might seem easy and convenient. But we can’t know if it’s giving us good information. AI hallucinations are a thing, and satire and misinformation can influence what it tells us.

So best to check in with a healthcare professional.

Live in #Canada? Sorry.

Health scams are gonna get worse. And a huge part of why is because Facebook and Instagram banned all news links in 2023.

Soooo right now, AI scams and fake health cures go unchecked. And with deepfakes being depressingly good, it's easy to get tricked.
