Wooldridge & Simpson began work today on the former NatWest building, which has been vacant since the bank closed on 7 February 2023. The delivery motorbikes that used this area for parking seem to have moved outside Ladbroke's

The English Indices of Deprivation 2025 show that one area in Headington is in the 1% least deprived in England, and other parts in the 2% least deprived. There are no longer any areas of Barton that are in the 10% or 20% most deprived areas www.oxford.gov.uk/news/article...

Remembrance: This panel in St Andrew’s Church lists five men of Old Headington who fell in the Second World War. It includes George Coggins, who lived at 9 The Croft and died at the age of 21 in an Italian prisoner of war camp from gunshot wounds sustained during the Anzio Campaign.

15 new affordable homes in Westlands Drive, Northway, have been given the go-ahead. City Council housing arm Ox Place is building them as a “low car development”, with just 3 car spaces (2 wheelchair users, 1 visiting carers) but bike spaces for each house plus communal storage.

Oxford’s Temporary Congestion Charge is now live. The charge will be at points on six roads in Oxford. Cars with permits & all other vehicles can pass through charge locations for free. Without a permit, £5 per day is payable.
