Wonder if taking a dinosaur approach to process.
Keep as much of the original as you can, but new build all parts that need replacing.

I honestly thought when a house transferred ownership, that it was basically a clean slate on changes.
So many houses in the city have violations.
Fences in (unused) shared laneways, decks that are too high etc, closed in verandah etc etc.
