Sigmatropic rearrangement enables access to a highly stable spirocyclic nitroxide for protein spin labelling
Spin labelling enables the study of biomolecules using electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) spectroscopy. Here, we describe the synthesis of a cysteine-reactive spin label based on a spirocyclic…

Very happy to share my lab’s latest paper, out now in @chemcomm.rsc.org! We used the classic Overman rearrangement to make a new, stable nitroxide spin label compatible with DEER experiments at 180 K! Well done @sowinskimat.bsky.social @spinlovett.bsky.social @standrewsxray.bsky.social
