Many of the problems of social security are actually fixed by pushing obvious and existing buttons. Mutual obligations system is fixed by turning them off but instead we do pointless inquiries that lead to nothing
A lot of centrist politicians and their supporters make the perfectly reasonable point that they don’t have a magic button they can just press and fix things. That’s fair! Policy is grindingly hard, slow stuff! But: do they govern like they *would* press such a button if they had it?
“…ditched” for a mildly progressive agenda. Bold in first term doesn’t work, as Whitlam’s one term attests. Aussies are innately conservative, look at 2019- the ‘unlosable’ election, and the Voice.

What’s a food that you are absolutely in the minority about disliking. I think my worst one is probably summer rolls. Oh and olives. Unless they’re blue cheese stuffed and in a dirty martini.
