Sydney Sweeney gives a committed performance as boxer Christy Martin in Christy. The boxing story is conventional and cliched, but what happens in her personal life is shocking and gripping, making the film worth watching. In cinemas today.

The third Knives Out film, Wake Up Dead Man, is in selected cinemas from today. Daniel Craig and Josh O'Connor are brilliant and I liked the darker tone and sense of humour, but it's long, overcomplicated and the weakest of the bunch.

Zootropolis 2 is in cinemas today! Make sure you stay until the very end of the credits.
Zootropolis 2 (or Zootopia 2): The creative world-building, the animal-based jokes, the visuals and the voice acting are all top-tier. The story is slightly weaker than the first, but I still had a great time. In cinemas Friday.

Ethan Hawke gives a tremendous performance as lyricist Lorenz Hart in Richard Linklater's biographical drama Blue Moon. The performances and script are all top-notch, but the film feels longer than it is and might have worked better as a play.

Pillion, starring Harry Melling and Alexander Skarsgard, is an excellent film about a timid, passive man finding his agency and identity. Yes, the sex scenes are graphic, but the film's about so much more than that! Much funnier than I expected too.

Benedict Cumberbatch is terrific as a grief-stricken, overwhelmed father in The Things with Feathers. There are some beautiful moments but the film itself is a bit too weird, dark and scattershot to really work for me. In cinemas now.

I highly recommend checking out Train Dreams on Netflix. It's a beautiful film about grief and loneliness, with Joel Edgerton's best performance in years. The cinematography and score are stunning. Yes, I cried! 😭
