The coach and the captain are failing our team that has historically been the ones to stay involved and speak up. No wonder the Korbin situation was brushed under the rug with “we’re having conversations behind the scenes” when they clearly weren’t. Extremely disappointing stuff.

How are the players in #USWNT camp taking in all that’s going on in Minnesota and nationwide?

![First of all, my condolences are to all the family members for those victims. Because it doesn't matter - I can sit here and talk about the loss of tragic life everywhere.
It's not something that first of all, as a mother, I want to see. It's upsetting on so many levels to see that happen, and I think they're in everybody's minds.
But I haven't spoken about it with the squad, genuinely.
I think the way we structure our camps, there's not a lot of sit-down time. Though I have got a Lego time today with them, another one, and paint-by-numbers - because I like that one too.
[I note here, not to opine on Emma’s words in the moment of reporting them: if you’ve seen her Instagram feed, you know she’s been doing this both as a mental activity and having players engage with her son Harry. - JT]
But we haven't spoken about it. And maybe that's because they're all reasonably new to camp, and whether they're familiar with it or not, whether they're comfortable talking about it or not, I don't know. But it hasn't been a topic of conversation this week in camp.
And perhaps they're having it amongst themselves, but they're definitely not having it in front of me. Becky was captain of the team and that meant she was the one stepping in front of the media in these moments, making the statements or helping with them, making sure these conversations were happening. That the USWNT doesn’t have that kind of captaincy anymore is also an issue.

we're still up 4 pts but gotta say that hurts. it's hard to keep proper perspective esp. while losing to man utd... besides i don't watch sports for perspective, i gotta do that grownup stuff every day of adult life. i want wins and joy and highs and thrills, is that too much to ask for 🥲
