You can only really make so many of these things before you die and internalizing that early on has helped me ditch a lot of prototypes that weren’t going anywhere substantial, but Jesus.

I think that convo was why I stopped being a solo dev, in hindsight.

At least in teams, even if the end product doesn’t live up to its potential due to the myriad ways games get derailed during development, I never feel like I’ve wasted my time if I love my team and got to see them well taken care of. I always wanna make good shit, but people will always matter more.
