Imputation integrates single-cell and spatial gene expression data to resolve transcriptional networks in barley shoot meristem development - Nature Plants
Spatially resolved gene expression during barley development was done by integrating an scRNA-seq dataset from cells with unknown position with spatial transcriptomics. This dataset is publicly availa...

Coping with stress: Transcriptional regulators linking cell wall integrity maintenance with primary-wall metabolism in Arabidopsis thaliana
Cell wall damage (CWD) and hyperosmotic stress elicit both distinct and overlapping transcriptional programs in plants. Responses to these stresses involve cell wall integrity (CWI) maintenance, which...

A very good historical perspective why you want to work on the weed…

How a humble weed became a superstar of biology
Arabidopsis thaliana was always an unlikely candidate for the limelight. But 25 years ago, the diminutive thale cress launched the botanical world into the molecular era.

Meristems shape plant architectures, and grasses generate a complex array of them. To characterise barley vegetative SAMs and spike development, we used single cell and spatial transcriptome data and integrated them in a new database, BARVISTA. A click on a cell now.....

Today, the ERC formally adopted a decision to increase its support for researchers moving to Europe.

On top of its normal grants, the ERC offers 'start-up' funding to help PIs establish laboratories / research teams in Europe.

This extra funding is now x2 (up to €2 million!)
