Castle Urquhart depicted here by David Young Cameron from around 1920, is situated on Strone Point, south west of Inverness. It was given to Clan Grant in 1509, but was destroyed during the Jacobite rebellion.

Sad to report that visual effects artist Chris Stoski has passed away. Chris was the ILM digital matte supervisor for "Star Trek" (2009), and was responsible for this amazing painting of the Enterprise under construction.

Animation by the talented folks at Sony Imageworks ! Pity it's a Netflix production, I would have loved to pick it up on physical media if not.
We just saw The Sea Beast (2022) and I was surprised by how good it was. Beautiful visuals and a story that contains a lot of important truth worth explaining to kids early on. It's reminiscent of How to Train Your Dragon, but has a different focus; It's less emotional but makes clearer accusations.

Some pictures of the Criterion 4K UHD release of Stanley Kubrick's 'Eyes Wide Shut', a 3 disc set. The 4K presentation is splendid and there's a disc dedicated to interviews & making of docu, all of which are fascinating. Highly recommended. See more in my post - halcyonrealms.com/bluraydvds/e...
