If the BBC can get sued for £10bn for simply cutting 20 seconds out of a video about Donald Trump, because it's 'lying'.

Then Donald Trump can get sued for $500tn, and that's just last week.

AOC: I want to remind you where the real crime is. It's in the oligarchs taking $170 billion of our money from health care and food assistance and public programs and taking that and funneling it into a secret police program.

What a world to go to bed thinking about one mass shooting and wake up to news of another, a targeted hate crime, at a Hanukkah celebration in Sydney. And also in the video where an actual hero, Ahmed al Ahmed chooses not to kill one of the terrorists.

The hero of Bondi Beach, Ahmed al Ahmed.

It was a Muslim that stopped the attack and saved lives, exactly like it was in Australia, and in the UK.

Rewatched some Star Trek tonight.
Still wild how a show about warp drives and weird nebulae ends up teaching the cleanest lessons about being human.
Every episode says the same thing in its own way:
‘Be curious. Be brave.

…Try not to fire phasers unless you really have to.”

Bet365 CEO Denise Coates paid herself £277,000,000 this year, and £410,000,000 in 2020.

This was more than 20,000x the Minimum Wage that she paid most of her workers.

The betting industry needs to be taxed, heavily.

Brighton owner Tony Bloom accused of running secret £600m gambling syndicate
Brighton owner Tony Bloom has been plunged into a major controversy following explosive allegations filed in the High Court, accusing the billionaire of operating a secret £600 million gambling syndicate. According to The Times, the lawsuit, brought by former associate Ryan Dudfield, claims that Bloom’s betting consultancy firm, Starlizard, utilised “secret exotic accounts” to place high-stakes bets on football matches. The most damaging detail links the syndicate to George Cottrell, a former chief of staff to Nigel Farage, who allegedly acted as a “whale” or frontman to conceal the syndicate’s activities.

You have the right to record ICE.

You have the right to film any operation happening in public as long as you do not interfere or impede it.

Last week, ICE arrested and separated a father and son after a routine check-in. Six-year-old Yuanxin had just enrolled in the first grade at an elementary school in Astoria. Now he's in custody, alone. ICE won't say where. This cruelty serves no one. It must end.

Buy a book.

Any book, it doesn't matter which. The one you've been looking forward to, the one with the title that made you laugh, the weighty award-winner you've been meaning to get to. Whatever.

Treat yourself. Step away from it all. In this time of gross ignorance & madness, read something.

Data centres are energy hungry but what if we could use their waste heat to heat our homes?

That's exactly what happens in places like Finland: Cities are tapping the vast amounts of waste heat generated by data centres, and feeding it into district-heating networks.
