The value of reading history is you know that in 1860 there were abolitionists who were so demoralized that they thought chattel slavery would be permanent. 5 years later those still alive had lived to see its end.

So it turns out... the US air travel system was incredibly, deeply dependent on federal funding to just run day-to-day all this time, to the benefit of private airline shareholders, when everyone thinks that state-run trains are leeching off the government. Weird!

Don't forget that Zohran Mamdani spent his entire campaign standing proudly beside the trans community. He went to trans rights rallies just to show support. He proudly waved trans rights flags without hesitation. He refused to back down in support of trans rights. That makes me happy.

Genuinely, stop giving FNAF promo. He still gets paid from it all. It's his IP.

Y'all talk about dropping HP but can't drop FNAF?
Hey, friendly reminder that Scott Cawthon's donations to the GOP literally contributed to SNAP suspension and you shouldn't buy or stream Five Nights at Freddy's anything.

Not seeing much on my timeline about it anymore, so here's a reminder: payment processors are still trying to censor NSFW content of all kinds, and are in fact getting more aggressive about it; I'm seeing stories of folks losing access every day

Call them & tell them THIS IS BULLSHIT
Stop payment processors from censoring games!

The Third Reich didn't last 1,000 years.

Pinochet was ousted with a referendum.

And the US isn't exactly dealing with the smartest, most competent fascists.

Those of you insisting that 2025 is forever need to read a book, touch grass, go to therapy, anything other than trying to make others quit.

I have no idea what white people are talking about right now. The warnings that the fascists will "use this" to do more violence. WHAT WON'T THEY USE? You've watched them deploy the US military on US soil using bullshit pretexts. What even are you talking about?

Do I condemn the Charlie Kirk shooting? I condemn Charlie for his structurally violent, anti-social politics. I condemn Charlie Kirk for his efforts to bring about an oppressive, fascist political system. If you want to condemn the shooting, that's fine, but you must condemn Kirk 100 times over.
Do I condemn the UnitedHealthcare killing? I condemn Brian Thompson for his profiteering off human suffering. I condemn UnitedHealthcare for its social murder of the working class. If you want to condemn the killing, that's fine, but you must condemn him and his company 100 times over.

"but we can't support trans rights, it's unpopular!"

just a reminder that US approval for marriage between black and white people at the start of the civil rights movement was 4%, reaching a whopping 20% by the end of the movement

it's 95% now

you don't wait for popularity for a rights movement

The way the violence/non-violence, armed/unarmed questions are often framed is irrelevant and misses the point.

Every movement that has ever gotten anywhere has to grapple seriously with the use of force and figure out ways to face it AND any push for liberation collapses if relying on force alone
