While visiting my parents in the U.S., the most surprising thing that everyone I came in contact with was asking was, "why he is still breathing". And I mean everyone - wait staff, receptionists, my Stepmom's doctor, my parents friends on both voting sides - everyone... (continued in comments)

US airport changes? The non-USA passport check was not CBP agents-It was an ICE agent in full body armor w/guns acting super intimidating. He has an iPad to take photos of each individual as they came through. Had I been in that line, I would never travel to the US again, which is probably the goal.

I've been back in Germany for two days after a short family visit, and am still decompressing and processing the catastrophe that is the country I left a decade ago. What an insane place my former home country has become. As sad as it is, I will try and post a couple of things about my experience.
