Update to championshipdata.streamlit.app! Check out the new chalkboard maps for passes, and the heat maps too!

Any comments and help appreciated, now to work on streamlining it all and getting that processing speed up.

Wrote a little bit more about Stoke’s defensive plans under Pèlach. I think this plot really sums it up nicely. Rarely does one visualisation give this much of the story so clearly!

Compact, narrow, force wide.
Massive gaps behind the front line of the press, drop *very* deep and defend the box.
But why is this happening? Well, whether on purpose or not, it’s a function of Stoke’s pressing plans. Looking below at how their defensive actions compare with the league average (red is more, blue is less), we get a good picture of that plan in a really simple visualisation.

Really loved working with @streamlit.bsky.social recently, here's my latest foray into creating an app for EFL Championship data visualisations!
**Customisable shotmaps for EFL Championship teams!**

Really delighted with the next step of my web app:
championshipdata.streamlit.app

Alongside match summary plots for every game, you can now generate customisable shot maps for any Championship side! A little demo video below shows how it works!

So, so proud of the work the club have done this season.

We haven't had many league fixtures the past month, but at 6th on 16 points, 23 goals in 10, incl. a 6-0 win away, beating Rugby away in the cup, seconds away from points against Wolves & Burnley, it's such a testament to everyone at Feds.
