It's just a very well balanced game overall, I can't think of any parts that would be too difficult to overcome even for a new player, I cant even say that for most of my favorite SRW games lmao. It adds even more to being an ideal way to experience the world of Touhou.

much like the SRW games it also takes inspiration from, it takes from every corner of the franchise, and gives representation to everyone, no matter how large the cast is, everyone has at least one moment in this game to stand out, it's truly awe inspiring.

Fantasy Maiden Wars is a near perfect summation of Touhou, from it's characters to the way the setting is portrayed, and the general themes and atmosphere of the game, it's an ideal way to delve into the series for the first time, or to experience it in a new way. It gets it.

Maybe the greatest fangame ever made, a true passion project. FMW is a game that loves every facet of both Touhou and SRW. As a huge fan of both, It was engaging both gameplay and writing wise from start to finish, and I loved every second of it.

For example, I'm a big fan of FMW Kurumi! The team did a great job of localizing her mannerisms in a way that an EN audience can appreciate. (Also she seems somewhat weak, but that complements her character well which makes her even more charming! I want to cheer her on!)

I have been playing it and loving it (slowly, as I've unfortunately been quite busy), and I can confirm the localization is exceptional. It's unfortunately common when playing JP works in EN that jokes and mannerisms lose a lot of impact, but the FMW team did a great job of preserving most of them!
