Vandaag gezien in Pathé Utrecht Leidsche Rijn. Erg de moeite waard, prachtige beelden en mooie verhalen van de mensen die met hart en ziel in en voor het park werken. Er komen weer nieuwe data, gaat dat zien!

A ten stitch blanket is all I have in garter stitch for this week’s #ShowMeYourKnits. I’ve used many leftovers for it and sit under it every evening.
A woman (without her head, but it’s me) holds up a square blanket. The centre is yellow, but the colour changes to orange, red, purple and green. The blanket is knitted in garter stitch and you only have ten stitches on your needle at any time.

I’ve shown my colour work mittens already too often, so now for something different. Fingerless mittens for my FIL (yes, got the size wrong with the second one), repairs on a shop bought glove (knitted a couple of new fingers) and fingerless mittens for my youngest.

Two blue fingerless mittens with a diamond pattern. One is quite a lot wider than the other. I have since frogged it and made an another. A grey glove on my hand. The thumb has been reknit with pink, one finger with brownish colours and one fingertip has been redone with orange. In addition there are two repairs, also done with pink. Two gloves without the fingertips. Half of the fingers is sticking out. The yarn is blue variegated. The left mitten has one zigzag pattern in darker blue and the right one has two.

Current WIP: badger cushion. Started with five DPNs but kept losing stitches and the cork stoppers got in the way. Then continued on a circular needle but it felt like knitting with two feeble cocktail picks. Have now split the work and use firm metal needles to go back and forth.

First balaclava I knit (for my son to wear under his helmet). I have lined it with an old T-shirt because the yarn was too ticklish and caught in his stubble 😅.

Leuk om je vandaag in het echt te ontmoeten (en ik blijk dus langer dan jij 😉).
De kniepertjes staan naast de drie-in-de-pan, ook lekker. Goed uiteinde en een mooi begin!

A Christmas knit: it is either Gnancy or Gneville and I finished it yesterday. Pattern is by Sarah Schira. Yarn is a leftover and as you can see it wasn’t enough.

A knitted gnome in grey yarn. It has a long pointy hat with a pompom. Its beard is lighter grey and he has a rather large round nose, just popping out from the brim of the hat. The gnome has cables on both hat and body. It is filled with dried beans and therefore sits plump.

The only fluff knit. I am a too itchy person… Quickly gave it away.
Pattern is a tam by Nora Gaughan. Yarn is unknown, it was in a bag of leftovers I was given.

Frogged the sock on the left because it was too stiff. I changed to larger needles. Current WIP on the right, much softer feel.

Another horror story for #ShowMeYourKnits: holes in socks with leather soles. I have covered them up with a knitted insole.
Inside of a sock, with holes. The new insole is lying next to it. The same sock with the insole sewn on.

A headband made with leftovers from this sweater was lost years ago on the bus. I still lament it because it had a lovely pattern and colour, was warm and soft. The replacements have never been as good…
