It's fascinating to me to see my theory proven right:
Deep down, most WoW players don't believe all peoples are "equal". Deep down, most WoW players are fine with *other* playable races/adjacent to be "evil" because that means they're "good".

The lore had allowed Blood Elves to live out a colonial myth within the narrative in the version promoted by colonial powers.
The lore is formalizing in-game what's been canon since Chronicles, and rejecting the colonial fantasy (terra nullius) for a colonial reality (genocide)

This is why I don't buy the whole "we removed the eye glow so their emotions would be easier to read" argument for the blood elf cinematic trailer because Blizzard has ALWAYS been excellent at conveying emotions through expression work. Even for characters without features.

I do really think 11.0 has an amazing set of zones with really dynamite world building
Wish we got an expansion set in them 😜

We REAAAALLY did not utilise Nerubians enough this xpac in the post level up story.
Genuinely obsessed with them and the weight of history that whole zone has.
(They should NOT have been made the original kingdom, that’s danuserism bs)

one of many reasons I consider BfA to be the absolute worst expansion blizz ever made regarding story, it undid everything about MoP, it somehow half assed three seperate stories, it fucked over Horde both as a faction and it's characters while continuing to make Alliance feel lack luster, it sucked
