Reading Lolita literally unlocked the trauma I stored away in unused spaces in my brain. I needed to be able to see something like that through art and human emotion in a way that wasn't clinical or full of fear. Crime shows and news stories just made me look away when I needed to look right at it.

i do not think younger generations quite grasp how monumental interview with the vampire (1994) was for queer culture in general. the film is literal queer history. to think of it as anything less than is willfully obtuse. despite its flaws (and there are many glaring issues) it is deeply important.
