A catalogue of all of Ver's works available at conventions. A t-shirt with a white ink print on black cotton. The print depicts a winged serpent. I keep a sketchpad next to the bed for recording ideas which arrive as I am falling asleep or waking up... prime time for my "muse channel." 1/2
A woman with tentative footing stands in a tetrahedral crevice cut into the face of an enormous stone wall. With no good handhold, she extends to glance out at a track of rust stains in the textured concrete. Well out of arm's reach, the vertical lines run parallel, marked with empty pairs of holes and the occasion—often broken—rung made of bent rebar. A similar pattern, evidence of a ladder that used to run up the wall, extends down from where she stands, but from her vantage she doesn't see it. She wears a white shawl-like shift trimmed in blue that hangs to knee length on the front and down to her heels in the back. Cut in a triangular pattern, it is an obvious inversion of the nook she inhabits.

easiest way to nerd snipe me, apparently, is to go "hey what if vimes was in this situation" at which point i just start writing discworld fanfiction off the cuff

On today's docket: what if lord of the rings but discworld?
Vimes would take the ring, then turn to Detritus and say "Detritus. Listen to me. I'm not being funny. If I, for any reason, look like I'm about to put this on my finger, I need you to stop me." Vimes gave him the kind of smile divers will sometimes see in their dreams, big and full of teeth and without even the slightest hint of a sense of humor. "Yes," he said. "Those ones." A scythe. A farmer's tool. It was no weapon any capable warrior would wield. And yet, at the foot of awakened Mount Doom, his army defeated, the dark lord Sauron laid his eye on the curved blade and for the first time in an age, he feared. "There are heights even someone like you can aspire to, grey rider." "THE LORD OF THE RINGS," Death continued, smiling at the rising sun over the mountains, like he couldn't hear the voice that scratched at the mind. "I DON'T SEE THE POINT OF EITHER. RULING. RINGS. ONLY THE WORK MATTERS. IT'S ALL THAT MATTERS, IN THE END." "Nothing ends." "SOME THINGS DO," Death said. "THIS DOES." He raised his arm, and swung. Once. One swing to end it all, in the land of Mordor, where the shadows lie. "YOU DO."

I’m thinking the core plot line of my F! Tennessee stuff is our protagonist trying to map out the “mostly unknown” area for reasons she’s a lil dodgy about at first w/ a modified Mr handy (she’s tech smart like Leanox but has more biology knowledge) and the ghoul guide she hires who knows the area
