Voted today. Yes on CO keeping tax dollars, because fuck TABOR. Yes on raising taxes on rich people, because duh. As for the school board, everyone is "non-partisan" which, OK. But if you either didn't do the survey, or talked about "keeping politics and culture wars out of education", then buh bye.

Seeing one of your favorite comedians have a take like "Monster Mash is bad, actually" and then not be able to quote it, for...reasons, is the last thing I expected to happen on Halloween.

They lied, or misrepresented the results of their "work". Any significant outcome anyone has ever reported as a result of using "AI" is a lie. It's all propaganda to make rich techbros richer.
“In September, scientists at Stanford reported they had used A.I. to design a virus for the first time.”

While it is very satisfying to watch Krash Patel melt down when confronted with anything more challenging than a game of Candy Land, that he got this far is very worrying.

It's long, but it's meant to be an exhaustive repository for ways to respond to breathless AI boosters. Not sure it will help, as they're usually drowning in the Kool-"AI"d, but here you go.

Racist Atlantic Writer Has Another Hot Take
Although crime is declining, Washington is still far more dangerous than it should be, Charles Fain Lehman argues. Instead of just looking tough, “the administration should focus its resources on the people and places that make the District unusually unsafe.” https://theatln.tc/6RCOGO23

Generally, I need to take something seriously to drum up actual hate, and I don't take manchildren especially seriously, but the manosphere sucks. A whole lot.
i wanna try something. quote this post if you’re a man who hates the manosphere

Sitting in a salon waiting area, overhearing some absolutely wild medical theories from one of the stylists. I hope she doesn't see how hard I'm rolling my eyes. It's affecting my posture.

I don't know what's worse, promoting AI (read: chatbots), or using "AI" alarmism as a jumping-off point to promote capitalism. I'm not linking to this garbage, because they don't deserve the clicks, but feel free to look up the source, which includes one of the worst fake graphs I've ever seen.

I hope all these dipshit Trump voters are okay with trading a few brown people escorted out of the country for global thermonuclear war. Great job.

When Kate Wagner decides to post something like this, you listen. I'm not in NYC, either, but I've spent a lot of time there, and they deserve better than scumbag Cuomo.

Because Chris "CRT" Rufo couldn't possibly be lying about his "confidential source" now, could he? Nor could the equally (un)trustworthy Manhattan Institute, right? Ridiculous. www.snopes.com/news/2025/06...
What we know about claims Lockheed Martin replaced white employees on year-end bonus list with non-white colleagues
According to a City Journal report, one whistleblower "'swapped' 18 whites for 18 minorities, solely on the basis of race" when nominating bonuses.

I left Xitter because Nazis, and I thought this place would be great, but even with the return of my ability to curate my feed, I can't deal with the amount of ignorance in the comments.

So today I learned that "cars bad" is just a thing here. Not promoting fossil fuels, or denying climate change. Just...liking to drive. And if you do, it's cool to liken you to internet misogynists, and then claim you were joking.
