I received another commission to do some hand-drawn designs for shirts. Yay!

These were for an #Amiga clone by www.enterlogic.se

One of them you can see in the video below.

You can get this design and the four other variants here: greyandslate.etsy.com?search_query...

Researching for my Women Inventor's shirts, I stumbled on the story of Ellen F Eglin, who invented a clothes wringer ca. 1888.

She sold her invention thinking no one would buy something invented by a black woman.

Well, here's her patent, with a few mods.

Just some #maker-inspired shirts I'm releasing this week and next.

Recognize any of these circuits and components?

I mentioned a few weeks back a bunch of #maker-inspired designs I made for Valentine's Day.

As these things go, I released one last one, today.

Reminder: Time’s running out to order your V-Day shirt!

Check ‘em out here.

Followed a bunch of #makers and #electronics folks today (thank you @pimoroni.com for an old list of starter packs).

Hello, those who are following me back. Thanks!

By day, in the life sciences space. By night, krazy maker and also illustrator of marker-inspired art and design I put on shirts.

Some #maker inspired shirts I’ve been releasing this week. What do you think?
January 29, 2026 at 3:27 PM
Ok, so I will admit that my #maker shirts with illustrations sell the best. But I keep making text-only shirts, as they make me laugh or think and I want to share those. I mean, makers do sometimes buy text-only shirts, no?

In any case, this one was inspired by a suburban mom catalog, haha.

I made three city shirts. One of cities of top #maker vendors, one of top #PCB shops, and one of top #CNC and #3Dprinter companies.

Do you know what companies are represented by these cities?

While I am so thrilled with the things I've been designing and illustrating, my feed reminds me of the challenges in the greater world. But for various personal and professional reasons, I am not one to speak up in these channels.

That said, the quote below sums up my feelings quite well.
I'd rather be talking about the mysteries of the universe than thinking about the stupidity of this world.

My latest design is a set of opamp schematics. Circuits and schematic symbols seem to be popular in my store. Which is fine, I have fun doing them. So, expect more, haha.

Yesterday was first time in ~8 months I didn't publish a new daily shirt design to my store.

Alas, I've fallen behind due to a busy December and start of year. Might have to miss a few days in the next week, too.

But I've a bunch of fun #maker designs to make this week. Watch this space!

Last night I had fun doing today's new design - a heart made of tiny hand-drawn 555 timers.

Your partner sees a heart, #maker you sees the 555s, haha.

Yesterday, I mentioned my simple hand-drawn #capybara design. Today, in my store, I've published a slightly more elaborate capy design:

"Keep Calm and Capybara On"

And, instead of the usual crown there's a sweet wee chill capybara.

Haha.
January 17, 2026 at 1:32 PM
Most of my designs are #maker centric, but every so often one begs me to be made.

Behold the capybara - chillest creature in the world.

I grew up in Brasil, where these critters come from. Name comes from Tupi 'kapii'gwara' - 'grass eater.' In Portuguese, 'capivara.'

Second capy design tomorrow.

To date, the shirt sizes I've been offering are S, M, L, and XL.

Should I add 2XL, also? What about 3XL?

I think I'll add 2XL to my more popular #maker shirts, and to all new shirts moving forward. Good idea?

As requested, I added 2XL to my USBSID shirts.

When I did my "I ❤️you more than..." Valentine's Day designs, I realized I should make pronoun variations.

So where it made sense, I did "him," "her," and "them" versions to cover most bases.

What do you think?

Here the #raspberrypi one. The #python one also below. Two more sets come Wed and Thu.

Oh, these bricks are getting cooler and cooler.

Seems Lego has so much more to reveal with these bricks and they only scratched the surface.

Now I'm eager for someone to do the teardown and let us know what's inside.

In preparation for Valentine's Day, I made some #maker themed shirts I think might make nice gifts.

From "This maker is taken" to "You make my heart blink" to a few variants of the one below.

Like 'em?

[Some in store, more to release thru weekend, especially versions with different pronouns]

Can't wait to see how #makers hack these.

Now to see if there are any dev documents.

#CES is here and #makers walking the floor are looking for things to #hack and, if they are like me, thinking "But can it run DOOM?"

A few months back I did a few shirts on this theme, haha: greyandslate.etsy.com?search_query...

Might have to do some more with some crazy gadget from this year.

Here's another illustration of #phreaking #hardware, to join my illustrations of the Cap'n Crunch whistle.

This is the famous Blue Box made by @stevewoz.bsky.social and sold by partner-in-mischief, Steve Jobs.

Would folks know what this was if you wore it on a shirt?

Get your phreak on, folks.

Ok. So for some reason I keep seeing a fire deity priest or priestess menacingly descending from the altar, raising a hand as a curse or blessing or warning.

Might just be my state of mind.

Last insight, today, from reviewing my #maker apparel store stats for 2025.

My most popular shirt by views is the @adafruit Field Guide. Oddly, my related Field Guide to Popular Boards has no views? How does that happen?

The two of them below. What do you think?

Reviewing my #maker apparel store stats for 2025.

The number one shirt by sales is my #RaspberryPi 5. And it's been available barely a month.

Again, a hand-drawn design illustrated by me. Indeed, all my sales have been something hand-drawn (tho two, patents, were not by me).
