I been shutting eyes at sunrise,
And real eyes realize real lies,
That’s a white trash proverb that I read online before I fell asleep,

There was so much room for dancin’ - Lucas Wayne

Was craving Indian food last night while out at a show. So I’m chatting a buddy up about my preferred option and he informs me that his wife who works for the local health department’s exact words were “the place is 50% traditional building materials, 50% cockroaches”. So anyway, burrito instead.

Je suis le Grand Zombie
My yellow belt of choison,
Ain’t afraid of no Tomcat,
Fill my brains with poison,

Walk through the fire,
Fly through the smoke,
See my enemies at the end of the rope.

It’s Thanksgiving next week which can only mean one thing… shit tons of new vintage Chablis and White Burgundy to unload, set up, and stock. Thankfully I didn’t get a single case of Beaujolais Nouveau this year. It’s the little wins that I savor the sweetness of the most.

Happy Belated to one of the best to ever do it… Malcolm John Rebennack Jr. aka Mac aka Dr. John. Doc was a guitar player before a gunshot wound to his left hand changed the course of our collective musical history. That injury led him to a career as one of the finest pianists to ever play the keys.

I was out of town for Phish when these cats showed up and played their second show as a band. Apparently they melted some faces with their mix of jamband covers and originals. I’m all kinds of excited to see these young bucks play the Hangar 9 tonight.

Whatever…. I’ve certainly done worse. I’ll take any win, no matter how big or small on a Friday.

My 15 year old daughter has found photography and it has changed her whole outlook on school and social function. The kid has her own insta page dedicated solely to her camera work… with a bunch of followers. It’s awesome to see your kid win.

Maybe the key is not having a starter you feel confident about?

My wife constantly sends me horrifying food pictures. We’re entering into Canned Cranberry Jelly, or whatever the fuck you call that monstrosity, season. I am basically frightened.

Time to vape the donutz…. I’m pretty sure you’re officially an old if you get that reference.

Sometimes you just need a big ass dab and a bowl of some spicy Veggie Pan Fried Noodles to turn your crummy day around.

Still haven’t found the starter word that feels right, but I worked it for a 2 nonetheless.

So this one time we were getting ready to leave Chicago for a NYE Phish Run and our buddy delayed our departure significantly because he had to run a work errand. The work errand was picking up Curtis Mayfield’s body for funeral preparation.

My sweet, sweet Weim is rocking a really nasty limp this morning. Not sure what she did but it was likely on her unattended 3:00 am jaunt in the yard. We could’ve been sleeping and remained uninjured, instead she’s limping and I’m 2 hours short on restful recharge time. Dogs… ya know?

So I fucked up and commented on one of those clickbait food from your state posts with a picture of a Chicago Dog. Now some Karen is telling me how she prefers her dogs which are clearly not Chicago Style. I want to tell her what a dummy she is debating quantifiable facts but I’ll resist the urge.

I’m going through my annual Italian Penicillin Pastina Soup phase. That can only mean Gumbo, Chili and T’chicha season are right around the corner.

Who’s a got a great non-run of the mill, preferably vegetarian soup recipe they really love and want to share? I need to expand my options/recipes.

Welp it looks like 15 is the number of years my daughter lived before having a good yelling at from her father. Mise en place, child, mise en place. Don’t start making pasta half cocked and ask me to bail you out of the prep work while simultaneously telling me you’ve got this. I’m having tacos.

My brain is way too scrambled from the workday to ponder or produce a BMFS #pick5. It’s oddly refreshing to not be concerned with what does or doesn’t get played tonight. I’m here for whatever happens tonight. No preconceived notions, wants or wishes.

Craft Beer Preorders and all fun and games until the shipments start rolling in. 72 new beers to setup and stock in a singular day is about 52 too many. I hate me and my sense of curiosity sometimes. Anywho…. hurry up and buy!

All those windows, pretty windows,
Each contain their private dramas,
I just pass outside just glancing up in vain

The flowers grow in boredom,
And the curtains hang to mock me,
Is there not a chance that I might venture in?

Holy Freaking Hartford Bust Out! I’m still high on those vibes.

Still and will always be one of my absolute favorites. Doesn’t matter how many times, or how many ways.
