Cure your onions for a couple of weeks until the necks are papery & dry, but aim to braid them while the long green tops are still flexible. If you let the tops get completely brittle, they will snap as you weave them. You need them dry, but still pliable, for a strong, lasting braid. #onions

As you clear your summer veg beds, don't leave them bare! Now is the time to feed your soil for next year by adding a thick layer of well-rotted manure. No need to dig it. Cover with cardboard to suppress weeds & let the winter worms work their magic, pulling the nutrients down for you. #Allotment
